Historic Interest
Dating back to at least 1877, the occupants are first listed as “beer house keepers” in the 1891 Census - Martha Moore, a widow who is also listed in the 1901 Census as Martha Edge. Prior to this the occupants were described as grocers. Acquired by West Cheshire Brewery and tied to Whitbread by the 1980s. Described in 1980 as a small convivial two room local selling Whitbread Special Cask Bitter by handpump. Renamed the Prince William in 2003 and closed in 2007. Now converted to a shop.
