This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Half Moon is recorded as having traded from 1686 to 1957. It was acquired by Bowaters in 1953 by means of a Compulsory Purchase Order, presumably because the site was required for industrial purposes, and this fine building was torn down shortly after closure in 1957.
The photographs (thanks to www.dover-uk.com for sharing) suggest that The Half Moon was probably part of the Russell's tied estate, passing to Truman's on their takeover of Russell's in 1930.
