The Grumpy Farmer is a charming bar housed in a converted barn and former store, once part of the now-closed Red Rock Brewery. Since its transformation in 2013, it offers a cozy atmosphere with a log-burning stove to keep you warm during the winter months. In the summer, enjoy the sunny patio and peaceful garden area, both boasting stunning views of Dartmoor. The Old Workshop officially reopened as The Grumpy Farmer in April 2024 and is open only on Friday evenings.

Beachside brews, backstreet locals, and a hop from the station—Paignton’s trail is full of variety, real ale, and seaside soul.
A harbour-hugging trail with fishing-town charm, characterful pubs, and a serious range of ale—all with the sea never far from sight.
