A traditional three roomed town centre public house since at least 1815. Interior of some regional historic interest.
Re-opened October 2013 under the management of Louise Lavender, who is also the landlady of the New Plough Inn round the corner. Purchased from Marston's by Louise in August 2014 and became a Free House. Repainted and refurbished July 2024.
2 regular beers Marston's Pedigree and Courage Directors, and up to 3 guests - often New Buildings Brewery. Real cider available.
Function room and meeting rooms available. Dining room/function room refurbished Spring 2020. Please book for Sunday Carvery.
