The pub is open plan with a number of areas on split levels. Food will be served from September 2024. At one side , off the bar, contains the pool table and dartboard.
A number of pictures depicting Hucknall's past adorn the walls. At the front is a tarmacked patio area.

Formerly a Shipstone's tied house, the Green Dragon has an entry on Ashfield District Council's Local Heritage List (September 2016) as being a "Nominated Site".
Asset of Community Value registered on the 11th March 2016 and nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA.
In 1832, the Green Dragon was run by John Truman (White) and in 1855, the publican was one T. Porter (Post Office Directory).
As at November 201, the freehold for the Green Dragon (NT347213) was held by TRUST INNS LIMITED (Reg. No. 3011034).
