This Pub is Closed Long Term
Situated in the historic centre of the village this is one of two pubs left out of six.
The pub supports village sports teams as it’s own pool and darts also supports local charities with regular events. Adnams Bitter makes appearances much to the delight of a villager who lived in Suffolk. The pub also supports live music, quiz and sports tv and jukebox. Although a one room pub the landlord has sound zoned so you can have a quiet drink or listen to jukebox or tv as takes your fancy.
Active Campaign
The pub closed in Sep 2024 when the licensee died, and pub owner Admiral Taverns placed the pub on the market, using agents Everard Cole, in Feb 2025 for ÂŁ295,000 , then reduced the price to ÂŁ250,000 and in Jul 2026 to ÂŁ225,000. Since early 2025 campaigners have been fundraising to buy the pub, and they have registered a Community Benefit Society (CBS), and launched a share offer, which had raised over ÂŁ100,000 by Jul 2026. The pub is registered as an Asset of Community Value, which it has had since January 2021. Please see this article and the society's website for more details.
