This Pub is Permanently Closed
Former one bar Charrington pub. Briefly reopened 2013 following refurb and upstairs conversion to flats but closed in April 2015 and converted to flats in April 2016.
In 2019 a Mr Edwards offered the following history of the pub; He researched the History of John Lovibond & Sons Ltd. of Greenwich,SE10. And gave us the following information about THE GOLDEN HIVE, 102 Green St. Enfield. This Public House was built by Mr. W.L. Ives of Drivers Hall,Enfield. and was let to Lovibonds at least from 1900 and probably earlier. When JL&S decided to cease brewing in 1960 The G.H. lease was sold to Jenners who at the time sold beers of The South London Brewery. In 1965 Charringtons took over the Leasehold interest. I am indebted to Mr Ives Grandson of the original builder for most of the above information.A Mr Belcher and a Mr Yerby were "Mine hosts" sometime after WW2 during Lovibond's ownership.
