Historic Interest
In 1970s it had a reputation as a "bikers" pub In mid 1990s after closure in 1994. it was used as an off-licence warehouse for several years & was then called Mr Wines & Beers. Sadly the original bar counter & back bar were sold off & are now fitted in an American bar. Previously it was listed as the New Gardener's Arms in 1881, suggesting that the pub had replaced a different building of the same name (located on the other side of road). It was still known as the New Gardeners Arms as late as 1928. Also see Old Gardener's Arms. Re-opened February 2010 after many years as a restaurant (under various names) & an off-licence Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolk.camra.org.uk/pub/475
