Traditional 2 bar Victorian pub tucked away off the main Bitterne roads. Originally built as a house, it became a pub around 1860, then called the Coopers Arms, and owned by Coopers Brewery. It was renamed in the 1880s to the Fox & Hounds as the local hunt met outside. Both the public and lounge bars are quite small, there are three steps down from the lounge to small seating area that leads to a large garden which also has an outside covered seating area. There are regular evening events with a games night Mondays, crib/darts Tuesdays, darts Wednesdays, Quiz Thursdays, Friday is music night (live, DJ or Karaoke), meat draw Saturday pm and a free jukebox until 5.30pm Sundays. Guest beer changes monthly and is from Stonegate list or a local brewery. Filled rolls are prepared daily.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (Guest beer either from Stonegate list or local) and 1 regular beer.
