The Fox is located in the village of Crawley, in the hills to the north-west of Winchester. The impressive ancient building with visible Tudor-style timbers had a tasteful extension added to the rear in 2018 when it also became a freehouse serving a selection of local ales. The open plan interior is also impressive with contemporary decor and high roof in the extension. There are three separate patio areas providing outside seating with a large pizza oven (used only on Sunday Evenings between Easter and October) in the front patio area. Afternoon teas are served Monday to Saturday between 3pm and 5pm.
The landlord is the Executive Chef and serves excellent home-made food using local and seasonal produce. A fixed price three course gourmet meal is available until 7pm. Accommodation is in five en-suite rooms above the pub.
Newspapers are available at weekends only, and there are occasional live music and quizes on Sunday evenings.
