The Forge Hammer was once set in an industrial landscape of tin-plating works and furnaces in the shadow of the 80 foot high Severn and Wye Railway viaduct. Now in a verdant valley setting close to the River Wye, the Forge Hammer is the home of the Lydbrook Valley Brewing Company, a nano-brewery just supplying the pub. Viaduct Pale Ale is a nod to the past. However, brewing is currently in abeyance. Fascinating photographs of bygone Lydrook are displayed. The popular Spice Garden Indian Resturant is incorporated into the premises.
