The Forge Hammer was once set in an industrial landscape of tin-plating works and furnaces in the shadow of the 80 foot high Severn and Wye Railway viaduct. Now in a verdant valley setting close to the River Wye, the Forge Hammer is the home of the Lydbrook Valley Brewing Company, a nano-brewery just supplying the pub. Viaduct Pale Ale is a nod to the past. However, brewing is currently in abeyance. Fascinating photographs of bygone Lydrook are displayed. The popular Indian Spice Garden is incorporated into the premises but now operates solely as a takeaway with no restaurant service. However, food can be ordered to eat in the bar.
