This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Five Bells appeared in the 1976 and 1977 editions of the Good Beer Guide. The 1976 entry reads:
"Charrington (H)
Busy, popular and friendly".
The picture of the pub while still open was taken in 2006, and is a cropped version of one by Nigel Fox; Photo © Nigel Cox (cc-by-sa/2.0).
The pictures showing the replacement building and the sign outside it were taken on 27 August 2015.
An article in the News Shopper dated 26 October 2010 reported on Bromley Council granting planning permission for replacing the pub with retail premises and flats.
