This Pub is Permanently Closed
Nearly opposite St John's Hall at the west end of the town centre, this old building, refurbished and re-opened in 2014, has a small basic bar with a wooden floor, and a snug leading to a lounge area where families and dogs are welcome. Guest ales vary from national to local beers. Parking is in the public car parks nearby. The pub was referred to (1859) as 'Mr Tonkin's beer house', and once served as a staging post for the Royal Mail heading for the Lands End area. NOTE: Actual opening hours may be somewhat erratic, best to check before visiting.
