Formerly a 'Fayre & Square' pub and restaurant situated on the banks of the River Trent, this has now been re branded as a Hungry Horse dining pub. Popular with families, it has a 'Wacky Warehouse' play area. Huge open plan carpeted dining area with a smaller drinking zone near the door and bar.

Historic Interest

The publican of the Ferry Boat Inn also operated the ferry across the River Trent to Shelford.

In the 1823 Alehouse Recognizances for the South Thurgarton Hundred, the Boat started the year under victualler Elizabeth Bosworth (County Archive C/QD/LV/4/7/30) but ended the year under William Cupit (County Archive C/QD/LV/4/7/31). In 1832, the Ferry Boat was fully licensed under W. Cupit (White). In 1855, the publican was also named as W. Cupit and in 1876 it was William Cupit, possibly the same person (Post Office Directory).
