Set in a beautiful location on the Leeds - Liverpool Canal where the barges can moor up alongside. Excellent food is served lunchtimes and evenings. The pub has been at the centre of the local community since the turn of the century, even playing a part in the local defence in the area during World War 2. The two storey tower you will see adjacent to their car park entrance was actually built as a gun tower and was manned to defend against invasion via air or the canal system.
The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust centre at Martin Mere is also nearby.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.
