Originally opened in 1889, the modernised lounge extended into a conservatory overlooking the children's play area.

Closed and fenced off in early December 2017, planning permission for 25 apartments on site applied for and completed by July 2021.

Non material amendment to planning approval 0/44621 (Demolition of single storey extensions to and the remodelling & refurbishment of the Fair View Inn into a 6 person 4 bedroom house. The construction of 24 new build 1 and 2 bedroom apartments over 3 and 2.5 storeys with associated car parking and ancillary facilities.) to allow for the removal of the gable end chimney stack - 21/4/2021
