This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
The Estate of Ord (formerly the Ord House Hotel) is a 17th Century home situated in 40 acres of gardens and woodlands just outside the village of Muir of Ord, close to the Glen Ord Distillery.
The hotel was originally the Laird's house of the Clan McKenzie and was sympathetically converted into a hotel in the 1970’s and retains a traditional Scottish feel. Antique furniture, real fires are laid every day and the original walls that are four feet thick!
The ‘Gun Room’ Bar is named so because it once held the Mackenzie family’s weapons of choice. George and Sonja arrived at the Estate of Ord in August 2021 to begin a new chapter and have taken great care to ensure the property and its grounds reflect the original classic style.
