A welcoming ambience with two bars, Sam's Old Brewery Bitter on the bar, and a home-cooked menu including Whitby fish, vegetarian and vegan options. The heart of the local community with family atmosphere, large beer garden, has raised substantial funds for village organisations. Deservedly CAMRA Spring 2016 Pub of the Season. Taken over in 2024 by New landlord David Clark and landlady Rachel Smith.

Unique as the only tenanted Sam Smith’s property the Ebor has probably the longest serving landlord in Yorkshire (and country) with Gordon Watkins at the helm for 39 years. Sadly Gordon Watkins passed away in March 2021.
