Popular roadside pub with a loyal village clientele and welcoming atmosphere enhanced by two real fires in winter months. A new extension has extended the eating area and added new 'indoor' toilets, both with disabled facilities. A fourth pump generally alternates between Cotleigh and Andwells ales. Good value, home-cooked food is served with a traditional roast on Sunday lunchtimes (not Sunday eve). There is a small, pleasant garden on the steep hill behind the pub with a fabulous view across the river Bourne and the countryside beyond and a covered smoking area for those needing it. Occasional live music. Salisbury CAMRA Country Pub of the Year 2014 and 2016.
