Historic Interest

The Grapes was situated on Rake Lane and dates back to at east 1819 although by 1822 it had changed its name to the Eagle. then to the Eagle & Crown. The pub was demolished around 1840 to make way for a larger pub incorporating this site and the buildings formerly on the corner of Ford Road.
