When a group of four local families found out their pub was closing down and was in danger of being turned into houses they decided not to let this community asset go without a fight.
Drink in hand (of course!) they made a pact to join together, try to buy the pub and save it from extinction.
And save it they did because the transformation has been remarkable. The licensee/manager in place has Good Beer Guide history and the up to eight ales he selects are mainly locally produced and always include a dark beer. Three real-ciders with at least one from the local Pure North.
This Pub serves 6 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
Dunkirk, Lower Denby
Changing beers typically include: Acorn (varies) , Saltaire (varies) , Small World (varies)
