A very traditional but now increasingly rare brickwork frontage hides a lively and welcoming locals' pub, which reopened in August 2024 after being closed for a just over a year, under the auspices of Sam Gregory. The pub has been sensitively refurbished and is now a spacious single bar with comfortable seating. The pull-down TV screen is used to show major sporting events on free to air and TNT sports such as six nations rugby, Premier League and international football, with regular DJ vinyl nights, occasional live music, weekly quizzes and a dart board on offer. Draught Bass is still served (make sure you pick up a card to join the pub's Bass Club) as well as two changing cask ales, usually from local breweries, such as Cheddar Ales. Plans are in place to serve food when the kitchen and dining room refurbishments are complete, and work on the garden is on schedule to open in time for the summer of 2026.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
Changing beers typically include: Cheddar Ales (varies) , Hop Union (varies) , Twisted Oak (varies)
