Large, lively, bustling town centre hotel/pub which attracts a largely local trade. This Georgian building has striking bay windows at the front, enhanced by impressive hanging baskets throughout the summer. The extensive, single-bar interior is less traditional, but still very pleasant and impressive, with a great deal of character. Food service may be restricted during the winter months. Opening time can be extended to 2am when there is a local event, such as the scooter rally.
