The Crown is a town-centre pub, formerly a coaching inn on the London to North Norfolk route in the 18th century. Parts of the building may date back to the 17th century and it is Grade 2 listed. It was re-built in the 18th century and has been known as the Crown (before that the George) from at least 1795. In 1922 the pub was a Bullard's brewery house which was acquired by Watneys in 1963.
After closing in 2009 it re-opened in 2017 as a pub, with hotel accommodation added in 2022. There are two public rooms on the ground floor and a large outdoor drinking area.
Regular live music events until 12.30am on Friday and Saturday, and karaoke every Sunday evening until 10.30 pm or disco until 11.30pm when there's a Bank Holiday Monday.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 1 regular beer.
