The Cross House Tavern's heritage has been restored with a great deal of dedication.

It is again a Victorian-style establishment serving national and local cask ales (including vegan), ciders, perries, wines and snacks (a lot sourced within 20 miles). The beer is served from tapped casks, much as it was when known as the Tolsey Inn and Coach House in the early 20th century.

Tewkesbury CAMRA Real Ale Cider Pub of the Year 2023 and 2024.

The Facebook page updates the beers available on a daily basis - often serving 10 real ales from brewers such as Phoenix, North Cotswold, Enville, Salopian.

Historic Interest

This building was originally built as two houses in the early 16th century. It was extended in the 17th century, and all extensively restored circa 1865 by Thomas Collins. He was a builder/restorer, who used it as his own home. The whole building, not just the current pub section, is Grade II* listed. Historic England List ID: 1201228

Conversion

The pub has been converted with dedication into a Victorian-style establishment with beer served from tapped casks. The Grade II*-listed three-storey timber-framed building was originally two houses in the early C16. A third storey was added in C17 and it was converted into a single home in C19. In recent years the ground floor was two shops. The pub comprises a main room with interwar tiled walls, a snug and a back room with a splendid range fireplace surrounded by a display of Delft tiles. Nearly all drinks are sourced from within 20 miles.
