This pub is in an old attractive Victorian house set at a cross roads in the expansive village of Formby. It sits on the site of a local market where in 1799, a local man sold his wife for 15/- and a bowl of punch!
The pub is divided into four rooms with comfy sofas and chairs and attractive fireplaces and pictures of old Formby can be found on the walls. Part of the Greene King Old English Inns chain, food is served all day from an extensive menu and specials board. Up to 10 cask beers can be found with many from local breweries also four ciders and a good selection of gin
The pub was refurbished in the Summer 2019 . Small private functions can be held in an area of the restaurant which can be sectioned off.
There is a quiz every Thursday evening, with an open mic acoustic night on the last Tuesday of the month and local bands playing on the last Saturday of the month. Children are permitted up to 9pm if dining. Cask ale is discounted on a Monday
