Cross Guns, Bolton

Delicensed 24/07/13 landlady was Sara Moorcroft and owner Punch Taverns. In May 1981 it was a Tetley Keg pub. By September 1982 it had earmarked to convert to a Walkers Pub. It was soon after a Walkers pub selling Walkers Mild and Bitter and a social was held here on February 22nd 1983. Handpumps had replaced the electric pumps by October 1984. A Branch meeting was held here on March 6th 1985. Another social was held here on July 14th 1985 and the pub was included in the selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide for 1985. There was an article about the pub in Bolton Beer Breaks of February 1986. In Spring 1986 the pub was Walkerised but still remained a Tetley listed pub! A Branch Meeting was held here on May 7th 1986 and again on September 3rd. The pub was listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Walkers Mild, Best Bitter and Winter Warmer (H). By September 2002 it was Hydes Bitter that was on the bar.
