Alas this Pub closed on the 29th April 2023, due to ill health of the owners. It is not known what the future of the pub will be.

A second planning application made to Powys County Council on Tue 05 Nov 2024, was also REFUSED on Wed 19 Feb 2025 as follows: 24/1595/FUL | Change of use from A3 ground floor to C3 to form one residential dwelling | Tafarn Bryn Tawe 133 Heol Tawe Abercrave Swansea SA9 1XS.

Situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this village pub offers accommodation and lunchtime and evening meals. A central bar serves up two changing guest beers. On the right of the bar two settles cosy up to a large inglenook fireplace with log-burning stove. A comfortable lounge area with a relaxed atmosphere attracts locals, walkers, cyclists, climbers and cavers.
