A town centre Tudor house originally built in 1753 and named after Market Drayton’s famous son Sir Robert Clive (of India) and, curiously, a French recipe for mutton pie, a coffyne, that was once served to its customers.

The Clive, as it is known locally, may offer real ale and is mainly a weekend venue. It has three open fires and a large outside decking drinking area for the summer. The pub holds regular music nights in the function room.

Historic Interest

Tudor house built in 1793.
