A substantial single bar pub built in 1913 to replace an earlier building destroyed by fire.
The large external area includes a beer garden with seating and extends to a point which is close to the source of the river Deben.
Food is served at weekends and the pub has six ensuite guest bedrooms.
Historic Interest
Deben brewery was once next to the pub but was demolished in 1867 after the owner failed to pay church taxes. The earlier pub was destroyed by fire in 1912 (see photos).
