This Pub is Closed Long Term

Under new management since April 2022 this former Fuller's pub is hidden away down a residential cul-de-sac on the Swindon edge of Wroughton. Now free of tie it features two changing beers sourced locally. There is also real cider available. Old Wroughton photographs decorate the walls. No food at the moment.

Historic Interest

Originally known as the Black Horse the pub probably originated as a beerhouse. In 1878 it was described as 'old-established'. It was acquired by Swindon Old Town brewers Bowlys soon after.

Over the years it was owned by Simonds, Courage, Ushers and finally Fuller's. Renamed the Check Inn in the 1990s.
