There used to be six handpumps but now there are just 4 - cask one 2 of them, the other 2 taps are not used. Changed name to Cellar Taps some time in 2022.
Occupies a large street-corner site with huge picture windows. The seating area wraps itself around a curved bar with the area's usual standard fittings of sofas, large mixed tables, wooden chairs, candles and subdued lighting.
There is a large back room with an impressive lantern and, if anything, with an even more chilled-out air. Outside seating on street-side. The ceiling in the front bar area is an impressive reproduction, the tiling on the side entrance is original and quite outstanding and one wonders if the whole pub was once similarly decorated.
Plenty of board games to pass the time with.
Historic Interest
Local Listing:- dual timber frontage. Newington Green Road: five pilasters, two panelled stallrisers, two clear glass windows, double panelled/wire glass door, clear glass fanlight. Timber door, double clear glass fan and extract.
One star - A pub interior of special national historic interest

The most interesting features here are the section of remaining bar-back and the tiled entrance.
This Victorian corner pub still retains some old fittings, and of course was originally divided by partitions into a number of bars. The main part of the pub is now an L-shaped bar with what looks like a Victorian counter with typically Victorian brackets and with the front painted grey. The only surviving bay of what is almost certainly the original bar-back is quite splendid being beautifully carved, but with a plain mirror and some modern shelving. The ceiling on the right hand side appears to be of metal sections and is an impressive reproduction. A wide arch on the left with decorative spandrels leads to what was originally the billiard room with a plain skylight, and the attractive wood surround fireplace looks old. The entrance on the left has multi-coloured tiling and a mosaic floor with the wording “Billiards & Saloon Bar”.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
