This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Cellar was a short-lived free house located in the centre of town. Opening in 1982, it featured two bars on different levels and offered a small range of real ales and a rotating pool table. It is believed to have run into licensing difficulties, which led to its closure in 2001.
It subsequently became a tattooerie, but as at March 2019 there are plans to convert it into a micropub. We wish the applicants every success!
Update - the micropub (The Mole Hole) opened later in 2019 and has proved very popular.
