Historic Interest
The building was constructed in the 1630s as a farmhouse for the nearby Kirby Muxloe Castle. Previously the Castle Farmhouse, it replaced an even earlier farmhouse dating back to the Middle Ages. Some of the bricks used for repair came from a demolished tower at the castle. The estate was sold in 1918, and the house became the Castle Hotel. Tales of secret underground passages from the Castle to the Hotel were confirmed when one was discovered in 1975.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 4 regular beers.
