On the Grand Union Canal this historic alehouse, built in 1798, welcomes canal users and locals alike. The original building on the waterside is now the front bar, with a modern extension to the rear. Internal decorations feature canal memorabilia, including interesting maps. Four permanent real ales are offered along with two locally sourced guest beers. The friendly staff are knowledgeable, and proud to serve local ales and food. There is outside seating alongside the water next to a double lock that can get busy.
