This Pub is Permanently Closed
Built in 1963 the pub is situated on high ground north of the city in the Paul's Dene area. The pub closed in 2002 with an application to demolish and build housing. A campaign by locals and councillors alike prevented the development and the pub reopened a few months later. Converted slightly in 2008, after another long period of closure, to separate the bar and louge which allows those who do not wish to dine to do so without watching others eating. Pool table, darts and a TV in the bar. Following a lengthy battle to save this pleasant estate pub during 2012 and 2013 a planning appeal overturned the local council decision not to allow a change of use. Finally demolished in 2013 and replaced with 4 houses.
