This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Bull & George was an historic former coaching inn that dated from around 1700. With this sort of history it is a great pity that this pub did not survive beyond 1969, at which time it was trading as part of the Courage tied estate.
It became part of a chemist's, retaining the original frontage, but the structure allegedly became unsafe, so it was demolished around 1981. This unfortunate turn of events allowed Boots to rebuild and expand their premises. Every cloud, as they say...
