Dating from at least the early 1820s, listed in Pigot's Directory 1828-29, shown on Bryant's map of 1831 and listed as the Bull in Bagshaw's 1850 Directory. An Argyle Brewery (later Birkenhrad Brewery) pub. Closed 29 December 1911. Became a private residence.
