Large, pub, popular with both students and locals, served by a single bar usually offering up to two cask ales at a time from three handpumps on the bar. Food is served daily from a comprehensive menu, with daily specials. There is an emphasis on sports and several sports TV screens are positioned around the bar area, although there are a few quieter spots. There is a quiz on Thursdays, with live music on weekends.

Step free access into pub is via the Catherine Street side entrance. The front door has a small step (approx. 100mm). A couple of ramps allow step free access through most of the pub. The accessible toilet is approx. 2/3rds of the way into the pub on the left side.
