Situated in a double-fronted shop unit close to the town centre, this self-styled "Burton's Premier Bottled Beer Shop and Tap Room" opened in November 2017 as an off-licence offering beers and other drinks from around the world. An on-licence was obtained in May 2019.
The slightly spartan main room at the front features Burton brewery memorabilia, with the bar counter on the right-hand, adjacent to two glass-fronted refrigerators housing bag-in-a-box ciders, plus assorted bottled and canned drinks. Behind the bar is a wall-mounted array of 20 keg fonts; a list of the beers available can be seen above the bar.
A second room to the rear also has brewery memorabilia on the walls, including what is allegedly the world's largest Double Diamond flag, and offers additional seating. It also provides access to the toilets in a corridor beyond.
No car park, but public car parks and limited street parking nearby.
Historic Interest
The building, built on the site of a former police station, was originally the Burton Museum & Art Gallery which opened in 1915 and closed in the late 1970s. The ground floor premises now occupied by the pub were previously occupied by a bookshop (Byrkley Books) and a hairdressers.
This Pub serves 4 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
