Microbar
Friendly and welcoming, this is a popular community focussed microbrewery taproom, which now serves as a bistro following the move next door (from 253 to 255) on 17th January 2025.
Originally opening in December 2020 in a former mower shop (at 253), this evolved with the introduction of the BR3WERY brewery until this moved out in March 2024.
The taproom provides whatever is currently ready on draught but in keg form only. There are ten taps in total with usually one or two guest beers from other South London microbreweries, such as Gipsy Hill.
Wine, cocktails and snacks are now available. Pizza can be ordered and delivered from the local Yard Sale Pizza.
The new no-frills taproom is spacious within the stripped back brick and plaster walls, complementing the bare wooden floorboards and plenty of seating on long shared benches. Lighting is subdued with modern lamps hanging down from the black ceiling with its cable ducts and exposed pipes. The overall atmosphere is friendly and chatty.
There is additional seating out front on the enclosed pavement area with a large awning and heaters. In summer months, this can get popular with the high trees providing an almost continental-style boulevard feel.
Please check the website and social media for the latest beer range. Card payment ONLY, no cash accepted.

Historic Interest
Following the renovation of the new premises at 255 Beckenham Road, it has been discovered that this was originally a wine, spirit and beer merchant's shop owned by S.R. Lloyd. Situated within a parade of shops built in 1897 to serve the growing suburb following the opening of nearby Kent House station in 1884. At that time, Beckenham Road was originally called Penge Road.
