John Davy opened this establishment in 1965 becoming London's first true wine bar. To this day no beer or spirits are sold.

One star - A pub interior of special national historic interest

Located in a former cheese warehouse that was taken over by Davy’s in 1973/4 to become a wine bar, with extensive cellars for wine storage, now rooms for hire. The wooden fixtures and fittings seem largely unchanged from the 1970s. Notable features include: a manager’s office directly as you enter via the stairs from the street that is still in use; to the right, a small room with an impressive display cabinet; a long panelled main room with three areas indicated by partial partitions; a further snug-style room at the rear; a wooden counter and bar back that are custom made to provide ample storage for wine; an old cigar display case with drawers.
