Friendly locals pub with a large L-shaped lounge area and bar space and a separate games room to the left, which is served from one end of the bar. The regular Bradfield Blonde is often joined by a changing guest beer that is often sourced from local breweries. There is a large garden to the rear of the pub. The original Blue Bell Inn was on the same site since at least the 1780s, and was demolished in 1923 to make way for the present building. Dogs are allowed inside and a water bowl is provided, Dog treats available, Situated in a popular area for walking with the Five Churches Walk and the Chesterfield Canal being close by. There is a three quarter size snooker table in the games area. The pub was granted ACV status in Sept 2018.
Historic Interest
Been a pub on this site since 1782, at least. Current building dates from the 1920's and is not significantly changed. According to H Garbutt's 'History of Harthill' published in 1950 there was an 'Old Bell Club' founded in 1782, and wound up in 1946.
