Classic English country pub in a quaint village that reputedly boasts the highest number of thatch roofs per resident in England. The pub dates from 1662 and was once a travellers' rest run by the Monxton Brewery. It is cosy and clean with low ceilings, some original beams and separate restaurant areas.
Car parking is by the village green. Dog friendly, although note that the pub has two dogs and one cat on the premises.
