This Restaurant is Closed Long Term

This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

Michelin Starred Restaurant close to Winchester City Centre with one real ale on tap. Part of same group as Black Boy pub and Black Bottle wine bar; both close by.

News February 2021 that it has lost its Michelin Star; as yet we don't know the reason.

The Black Rat closed at the end of September 2022.

Historic Interest

18th century though there is some evidence of earlier stonework in the cellar. Grade II Listed. Historic England list entry 1350653 under 'Kings Arms Public House'. The Pub became the Black Rat restaurant around 2007 we think.
