This Pub is Closed Long Term
CLOSED. Future uncertain.
Small 1960s estate pub set well back from the road, with garden benches in the front yard. In the single room, bar stools and a few tables and chairs leave plenty of space for the pool table.
Historic Interest
The black bull statue outside this pub originally stood over the frontage of the Black Bull coaching inn in High Holborn, an establishment mentioned in Dickens' Martin Chuzzlewit. It was modelled for William Lockwood the inventor of Portland stone and when that pub was demolished in 1904 to make way for Gamages and the bull taken down, it was found to weigh four and a half tons. Relocated to the offices of Sir William Bull MP in King Street, it has ended up outside this pub!
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
