This Pub is Permanently Closed

Vies with Church Steps for the title of the oldest pub in Batley. Had many original features - the tap room at the front, the tiled floor of the 'corridor' as you enter and the wooden bar and internal doors. It was here in 1801 that the first meeting of the Masons was held in the town. Pool room at pack. Connections with Shaw's Amateur Rugby League. Now gutted and converted to a pharmacy.
