A large family-run hotel in New Walk Conservation Area. Up steep steps from De Montfort Street into a lounge bar with several distinct areas. Sit in the conservatory and watch the world pass up and down New Walk. Although a handpump survives, real ale has been discontinued here. Breakfasts available.

Historic Interest

A 19c house which became a bed & breakfast in the 1930s. A blue plaque is displayed facing New Walk: 'ERNEST WILLIAM GIMSON - born Leicester 21 December 1864 - died Sapperton 12 August 1919 - ARTS AND CRAFTS ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER - LIVED HERE 1870-1886'.
