This Pub is Closed Long Term
A pub of historical interest in the centre of the town. Firstly it is said the old oak beam spanning the bar once bore carvings of the kings head and that these were mutilated by the Roundheads in the Civil War. Of greater interest is the 'Painted Room' upstairs, currently the function room. Here walls are painted with Etruscan style panels which are separated heraldic devices. These are attributed to the French prisoners of war who were in Moreton in the early 1800s. The single bar area is comfortably furnished with perimeter banquette seating and has both a pool table and dartboard.
