Has accommodation *** Highlands & Western Isles pub opening and food service times currently vary nearly on a day-to-day basis, mostly dependent on establishments' access to bar and waiting staff. Hence you will almost certainly see different times than those published here. Please DO NOT send updates to either opening or food service times, as trying to hit a moving target is a waste of our very limited resources. Instead, overall opening and restaurant times will be updated at the next full survey. Your understanding is appreciated. We welcome notifications of 'dog friendliness' however four legs good, two legs better. As you might imagine for a website called WhatPub, the main aim is to highlight the quality of ales. Thus, please include an assessment of a pub's beer(s) when you notify us of its cynophile status! ***.

If you have been here before and are confused by the name change don't worry, during 2020 The Torridon estate, comprising of 58 acres. re-branded its operation.

Situated at the head of Loch Torridon the business has been with the same family for 30 years and offers outdoor adventures to those staying.

Previously known as The Torridon Inn, which has itself now been divided between the homely Beinn Bar, offering snacks and live music, and the Bo & Muc with seated dining.

(Bo and Muc are Scots Gaelic for cow and pig, a nod to the Torridon farm.)

Close to the old inn, there are 12 rooms of accommodation in the “The Stables”.

The 5* Luxury Hotel is now known simply as “The Torridon” and has a new conservatory and refurbished 1887 restaurant. Also on the estate is the "The Boathouse" the latter being an exclusive riverside rental with two bedrooms and living accommodation.

During the summer months up to three hand pumps offer beers, mainly from breweries in the Highlands of Scotland, and sometimes a cider. However this can reduce to just two during the quieter months between October and Easter when, historically. there has been limited opening, both in terms of days and hours, including a short complete closure.

If intending to visit during this period please phone ahead to avoid disappointment.

Traditional music features weekly in the summer and there is a beer festival in October.

An excellent base for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike, opens early for breakfast at 8am for those keen to get out on the hills but continues to serve generous portions of good food nearly all day with all of the ingredients for the dishes served are from the Kitchen Garden, Torridon Farm, Loch Torridon, or local waters and even the venison comes from the estate, or close to it.

Don't fancy driving all that way? A helicopter transfer can be arranged from Inverness, and you can hire its Morgan car to explore the local area.

Note, currently the website and one of the social feeds are for "Torridon", but include information about the whole of the estate which is effectively a self-contained resort.

[Update 17 Aug 2025: Loch Ewe Brewing's Vega is a 5% blond ale created in collaboration with the Torridon, available cask-conditioned in the Beinn Bar and bottle-conditioned in the main hotel. They are renowned for working with local food and drink producers.]
